ABOUT
Kirara(美星)
A retreat that lives in harmony with the seasons of Yufuin.
That is Kirara.
For generations, Japanese ryokan have welcomed guests with tranquil spaces, refined cuisine,
and a heartfelt spirit of hospitality.
Honoring this tradition, while skillfully blending modern comfort with Japanese aesthetics,
we present a culinary experience crafted from seasonal ingredients that vary with the four seasons.
Mt. Yufu, revealing different expressions among the seasons and even the day's weather.
Kirara is an inn where you can experience the best views of Yufuin, exactly as it is in that moment.
The interior, designed in modern tones of white and brown, creates a calm and elegant atmosphere.
With only nine guest rooms, we are able to place the highest priority on each guest's comfort and well-being.
We prepare a space of peace and relaxation,
hoping you will feel drawn to return again.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming you.
The ever-changing views of Mt. Yufu through the seasons
gracefully welcome our guests.
Check-in begins
with the views of Mt. Yufu through the window.
Please enjoy the welcome drink upon arrival.
Through the window, there would be the ever-changing views of Mt. Yufu among the seasons.

On the wooden terrace,
savor the light and breeze of Yufuin.
On pleasant days, guests often step out onto the wooden terrace
to enjoy the light and breeze of Yufuin—
either during a quiet moment before dinner
or after savoring breakfast.
It is a way of spending time that many find especially delightful.

Whenever you wish, as many times as you like.
With each soak, your skin is gently refined and renewed.
All guest rooms are equipped with semi-open-air baths fed by 100% free-flowing natural hot spring water.
The high-quality waters are known for leaving the skin smooth and refreshed,
allowing you to enjoy the bath whenever you wish, as many times as you like.
From the bath, you can also take in beautiful views of Mt. Yufu.
The hot springs at Kirara are classified as mildly alkaline simple hot springs.
They are often referred to as “skin-beautifying waters” due to their high content of metasilicic acid, present at nearly four times the standard reference level.
Metasilicic acid is known as a naturally occurring moisturizing component,
and is traditionally said to support skin hydration and the body’s natural renewal process.

A moment of culinary bliss
begins in the dining room.
Warm dishes are served while they are still perfectly hot,
and chilled dishes at the moment they are at their crispest.
Above all, however, the pace of the meal is guided by our guests.
To ensure that every dish is enjoyed at its very best,
we invite you to dine in our dedicated dining space,
where each course can be savored as it was meant to be.
Return to your room after dinner
and take your time to enjoy the night just the way you like.
Enjoying the hot springs in your semi-open-air bath is one way to spend the night.
Reading, letting gentle music fill the room as well.
You could also dim the lights slightly and savor quiet conversation.
Wrapped in stillness, the night flows at its own pace.
And then, morning—
a breakfast that gently awakens the body from within.
Awakening from a deep and restful sleep,
what the body seeks for is a delicious breakfast that gently brings every sense to life.
At Kirara, we offer a vividly colorful morning menu,
as delightful to the eyes as it is to the palate.
